Doctor Cook is on a Mission to introduce Home Ergonomics by Guaranteeing cooking to be Safer and Easier for Everyone.

The science of ergonomics has been readily embraced in the work place. Seemingly it is making a slighlty slower transition into the home.

Celia Gates, the founder and inventor of Doctor Cook is on a mission to accelerate this.

Having noticed her grandmother struggling to lift a hot and heavy saucepan, the answer to the problem was screamingly obvious.

Traditionally a saucepan has always had a long straight handle. This is because it was first used in an open fire and the long handle was needed to protect the cook's hands from the naked flame. When the cooking surface was modernised and moved up, out of the hearth and unto the familiar hob top used today, the saucepan handle was simply shortened. Nobody stopped to think about how this design should be.

Nobody that is until Celia Gates, who has won many international awards including the title of European Female Designer of the Year 2007 began to research the solution.
